Ramadan celebrations and the 9-God Festival for Buddhists are all happening this past week. Just came back to KL from Ipoh. Got in a little late and luckily picked up a Chinese taxi-driver. The bus terminal is a bit rough around there at night…. reminds of the bad times of the Port Authority.

I’m in Malaysia and the weather has just been fantastic. Flew in Saturday morning, day before the unfortunately named Typhoon Longwang. From KLIA went directly up to Ipoh to see my cousin who was on holiday from China. It was nice as my uncle’s family was all back and could spend time with them. Always enjoy that greatly. Definitely a Mastercard moment.
Sunday, came back down to teach a Project Management 5-day Boot Camp class of 16 people who will mostly sit for the PMP cert exam. A few glitches with the logistics created some problems and we’ve been scrambling to fix things up. US HQ held up the books and materials and then shipping seemed to have it stuck in a facility somewhere. Its not easy to do training 9 hours on your feet and trying to not bore people to death. Not to mention that while the material isn’t new to me, their presentation of it is so had to tailor on the fly my presentation. So far, I think so good, and enjoying myself, but got 3 more days of this. Wish me luck.
Oh, and Malaysia is really nice…. I might make that circle complete after all……

So you find yourself in a rut, nothing matters much, mostly tired and not motivated to do anything. You get tired of the same old, incessant repeat of the same issues day in and day out. How do you break out of it?
One of the cool things about Taiwan is the fact that it’s easy to meet famous people, like movie stars.
We were playing hoops at National Taiwan University and his old-school buddies came over and took us to school. The bell hasn’t stopped ringing.

Been a really hectic September. Flew to KL twice and back going through Changi and HK on the way back. Cathay’s hub in HK is nice but the layover can get really long and tiring. B- and I just finished moving out of our old place and into our new place. it’ll take a lot of work to bring it up to speed but it’s bigger, and has more of a home feel. We’ll turn this place into a home office and maybe rent out one of the rooms out.
Taipei can get really dirty and this place is no exception. The filth is overwhelming and clean up is slow. Nevertheless, we got static IP with our internet connection through Taiwan Fixed Network which was offering half off the other TW competitors. Just bought a wifi router for the place and will slowly put everything up.
My alma mater got mentioned prominently in this article. Not surprising since my school is the leader in this area. But the stakes got raised this year and looks to be much more competitive from the boys out West.
